Lagos State Primary Healthcare Monitoring and Evaluation Systems Assessment
Client: TA Connect
InSiGHt Health Consulting conducted a comprehensive Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) assessment of Lagos State’s Primary Healthcare (PHC) system to identify gaps and develop a costed M&E strengthening plan. This assessment, aligned with the 12 components of a functional M&E system and utilizing the Performance of Routine Information System Management (PRISM) framework, was carried out at the state, LGA, and facility levels. The study included a statistically representative sample of health facilities across the five administrative districts (20 LGAs) of the state.
The methodology incorporated key informant interviews with stakeholders at the state level and focus group discussions (FGDs) with Officers in Charge (OiCs) and record officers at the facility level. Findings from the assessment informed the co-development of a detailed and actionable M&E strengthening plan in collaboration with relevant stakeholders, aimed at improving the efficiency and functionality of the PHC M&E system in Lagos State
